Ellen Tittler

Ellen Tittler received her
Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance from Juilliard School of
Music and earned a Master's Equivalency in Health and Physical
Education from her studies at NYU, LIU and Brooklyn College. In
addition to Juilliard she trained at The Martha Graham School of
Contemporary Dance, Alvin Ailey's American Dance Center and
Luigi's. She performed in the dance companies of Pearl Lang,
Ethel Winters and Lucas Hoving as well as serving as Rehearsal
Director for Pearl Lang and Mary Anthony.
Ellen began teaching in 1962 as a
substitute for Pearl Lang at Juilliard. She taught at Alvin
Ailey's American Dance Center, NYU, Ballet Hispanico, Mary
Anthony's Dance Theater and for the NYC Board of Education. Ellen
was twice selected for inclusion in Who's Who of American
Teachers. She now serves as an auditor for the Dance Program of
New York State Council on the Arts.
Ellen has been teaching at SCDC
since 1990. She studied Ballroom dance with Sandra Cameron, Bill
Davies, Peter DiFalco, Paul Holmes, Steven Dougherty, Mark
Kotowski and Miriam Ellis. Currently, Ellen teaches Advanced
Workshop classes and team-teaches the Medal Test classes with her
studio dance partner Cameron Johnson. Ellen conducts staff
training for the Ballroom instructors.
